How to set up Hamachi in different versions of Windows. Learning to use the Hamachi program Hamachi windows 7 does not work

Application for creating virtual networks

Hamachi from LogMeIn is a convenient and easy-to-learn tool for creating private virtual networks. With its help, you can not only organize some kind of local network, but also get a completely legal “white” IP address. And if in the first case everything is quite clear - on a local network you can safely share files, play multiplayer games or open access to your devices, then we will have to decipher the second point a little. Today, many providers use only a few dozen “white” IP addresses in their network, so as not to strain network equipment and not pay extra money for renting address space. They give most users so-called “gray” (internal) network addresses.

At this point, the problems begin: how to “reach” the right user on such a network, how to go to his “share” or how to connect to his game server? This is where the Hamachi program comes to our aid, or rather, one of its capabilities is to provide the computer on which it is installed with a “white” IP address and, using its servers, broadcast it to the World Wide Web.

Well, we've sorted out the theory. Let's start practicing and look at how to use Hamachi. According to the established tradition, let's start with the installation process of the application.

1. Installation of the program

The Hamachi installation package can be obtained in several ways: from our website, taken from third-party resources, or obtained from the official website of the program after registering. Naturally, we strongly advise using software only from trusted “suppliers”, i.e. download it from our portal.

In any case, regardless of your choice, we would recommend registering on the developer company's page. This will take literally a few minutes of your precious time, but will add many useful tools to your arsenal. Go to the application developer's page and fill in the required fields:

After entering your personal information, you will be able to access the LogMeIn software download page:

And cunning developers will show you step by step how and what to do:

After this, you will see a summary page of your registered account, which displays the main features and characteristics of those installed using the LogMeIn software. connections: who established these connections, who connected, when this happened and for what purpose. Agree, it’s convenient to always have such information at hand!

But let's return to the Hamachi program. So, you have downloaded the installation package from our website. What's next? Feel free to run it and follow the installer prompts:

Installing the application is more than trivial, we will not dwell on all its stages. Let us only emphasize that if you are not a fan of additional software, then at the point

do something like this, i.e. uncheck the agreements for installing weird and incomprehensible applications))

Congratulations! Installation successfully completed!

It's time to start setting up the application.

2. Setting up the program

We launch the installed program using the shortcut that appears on the desktop and see that the Hamachi interface is completely Russified. For this, we’ll mentally add one more point to the developer’s piggy bank))

As the main application window advises us, click the “Enable” button in the upper left corner:

We are asked to enter the name of the computer on which the program is installed. Let's enter. For example, "Laptop":

In the next step, Hamachi assigns us an external address, which is displayed to the right of the "Enable" button. Now with a pure soul we can begin to create a new virtual network. Click "Create a new network"

and fill in the required fields in the network settings dialog:

After you finish entering data and click the “Create” button, an icon of the created network and its network status will appear in the main application window: “online”:

You can check the network settings of the new connection and its parameters through the standard Network Connections snap-in of the operating system. For example, if you are the owner of the “seven” (Windows 7), then do the following: go to the “Control Panel”, go to the “Network and Sharing Center” tab and on the left click the “Change adapter settings” link:

You should see something like this:

A new connection has appeared with the name "Hamachi" and the status "Connected".

This completes the configuration of the program in the direct IP address allocation mode. Now your friends and acquaintances can easily find your network resources or game server on the Internet.

The same steps should be repeated for other computers that you plan to connect to a private virtual network or use for joint multiplayer games.

Hamachi is a program that allows you to create your own secure network of different computers on the Internet as if these computers were connected to each other by a physical network. In addition, using Hamachi you can create a LAN (local area network) on top, that is, separately from the Internet. Of course, this method greatly increases its reliability, and penetration of this network by outsiders becomes almost impossible. In this article we will tell you how to configure Hamachi in such a way that the network is as efficient as possible. We'll talk about how to set up Hamachi on Windows 7 and other operating systems, and we'll start by describing the installation of this program.

Hamachi installation

Everything is simple here. After you have downloaded the installation file, run it on your computer (if you don’t trust the source you downloaded from, check for viruses first) and click “Next”. Now we need to agree to the terms of use of the program by checking the box in the right place, and click “Next” again. Then we will be asked to specify the directory (folder) in which the system will install Hamachi - here you can also select options such as loading the program along with loading Windows and adding a launch icon to the desktop.

Don't forget to check the box next to "Block vulnerable services...". Then we select the non-commercial use of the program “Non-commercial license” and click on the “Install” button. Next, the installer will perform all the necessary operations, after which you can begin setting up the application.

How to set up Hamachi on Windows 7

To do this, look at your desktop. See the icon bar below? We need the right corner of this panel. Find the network icon there (it looks like a computer monitor) and right-click on it. In the drop-down menu, select the bottom item (“Network and Sharing Center...”) by left-clicking on it. Now in the menu that appears, select “Advanced” and then “Advanced options”.

You will see a list of connections under "Connections". Move the connection labeled “Hamachi” to the very top of the list and configure the bottom menu for that connection under the “Hamachi Bindings” heading accordingly. In this menu, you need to check the box next to the “Internet Protocol Version 4” items and uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6” items. This is very important for Hamachi to work correctly.

Now find the item “Change adapter settings” on the left and click on it. Here you also need to uncheck the “6th protocol” and put it on “4th”. In addition, for protocol version 4, select “Properties” - the button is located just below on the right. In the IP address field, you must enter the address exactly as specified in the main window of the Hamachi program. Now click on the “Advanced” button (it’s at the bottom). You will see the Advanced TCP/IP Settings menu. On the “IP parameters” tab, in the “Interface metrics” item (it’s at the very bottom), set the value to 10. That’s all, now all that’s left is to restart the computer and you can operate the program, so to speak, in full mode.

How to properly configure Hamachi on Windows XP

Here the settings are similar to Windows 7, but somewhat simpler. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu (the round button in the lower left corner of the desktop) and click on “Network Connections”. Next, click on the “Advanced” tab and then “Advanced options”. Just as in the case of Windows 7, you need to put Hamachi at the top of the list, otherwise the program will have no effect. Now all that remains is to restart the computer and see if the settings are saved. If Windows Firewall is blocking Hamachi on your computer, make an exception for the program by selecting Firewall in Control Panel or going to its settings from the blocking message dialog box. That's it: the program will start working.

Despite the efforts of Hamachi developers to make this program as “friendly” and simple as possible, many users still have difficulty setting it up. By following the instructions below, you can easily configure Hamachi correctly for gaming or work.

General setup of Hamachi on Windows
In this article we will look at how to configure Hamachi 2.2.0.541 - the most available today. The example demonstrates the setting Hamachi for Windows 7, since this OS is the most common today.

In general, Hamachi does not require any additional configuration; all you need is to install the program, run it, and click on the “power” button (Fig. 1).

After this, you need to connect to the network of interest by clicking “connect to an existing network” (Fig. 2) or “network” -> “connect to an existing network” (Fig. 3).

A network details window will appear in front of you, where you will need to enter the network ID and password (Fig. 4).

If there are enough free slots in the network, you will connect and see a window with a list of participants (Fig. 5).

Hamachi asks for registration, what should I do?
If Hamachi is launched on your PC for the first time, or information about previous launches is damaged, the program will display an authorization error message (Fig. 6).

In this case, you need to either register for free in the LogMenIn system (Fig. 7), or log in if you already have a LogMenIn account.

What to do if Hamachi won't connect?
First, you should check if everything is ok with the network you are interested in. To do this, enter “hamachi test network” into a search engine and try to connect using any of the details that appear in the search results.

If Hamachi does not connect to any network, click “system” -> “parameters” (Fig. 9).

Select the lowest item in the left panel - “Parameters”, find “Encryption” there and set the type to “Any” (Fig. 10).

Then click the “Advanced settings” item located at the bottom of the window (Fig. 11).

If you do not use a proxy server, set the corresponding attribute with the “no” flag (Fig. 12).

Please note that when using a proxy, connection problems may be caused by it.

Then resolve names using the mDNS protocol (Fig. 13).

Disable traffic filtering by selecting the “allow all” flag in the corresponding field (Fig. 14).

Enable presence in the Hamachi virtual network (Fig. 15).

Confirm the changes made (Fig. 16).

Close the program and enter it again.

If the above does not help, try temporarily disabling your antivirus.
Also, sometimes Hamachi does not connect due to the Firewall blocking it.
To turn it off, click " Start» -> Control Panel -> Firewall-> Enabling or disabling Firewall
(Fig. 17) (Fig. 18) (Fig. 19) (Fig. 20)

Setting up Hamachi via a router
Sometimes the source of problems is not an incorrect Hamachi configuration or an overly “vigilant” Anti-Virus, but the port through which your router broadcasts.

Open two arbitrary free ports in the settings of your router (each specific router model has its own specifics for opening ports - see the instructions). Then configure Hamachi to use them by specifying the local TCP address and local UDP address attributes in the already familiar “advanced settings” window (Fig. 21).

After that, restart the router and restart Hamachi. An important point - when “forwarding” ports, do not confuse the addresses for the TCP and UDP protocols!

Special cases of Hamachi configuration
It is worth noting that this program is often used by gamers to build gaming networks, as well as various organizations to create corporate file sharing systems. In such cases, you should strictly follow the instructions of the gaming community or your company. However, at the same time, you must understand that if you decide to download and install a third-party unofficial Hamachi distribution, you are endangering the security of your PC - unless absolutely necessary, refrain from connecting to such networks.

How to set the language in Hamachi?
Unfortunately, there is no optional language selection in the program. In order not to run for a dictionary, it is enough that you have the Russian version of Hamachi. If for some reason you need a different language, reinstall the program after downloading the “hamster” localization corresponding to the language you are interested in.

notice, that Hamachi official website provides the ability to download only the English version of Hamachi. We can do it.

Many of us often like to play old games. However, many of them have closed servers and it is not possible to play with friends. In this case, the Hamachi program comes to the rescue, the main task of which is to create a local network over the Internet.

How to use Hamachi on Windows 10?

In order for the installation of the program to be successful, you should perform a few simple steps:

  • Download the Hamachi installation file to your PC.
  • We disable the antivirus program during installation, since sometimes the defender blocks the installation of software for creating servers.
  • We complete the installation and go into the program. Next, setting up Hamachi for Windows 10 will be as follows.
  • Right-click on the “Start” button and select “Network Connections”.
  • The network connection management window will open. Right-click on the Hamachi network and select “Properties”.

  • Now you need to open IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4). To do this, click on the “Advanced” button in the “IP Settings” tab and in the “Gateway” section click “Delete”.

  • In the “Interface Metrics” field, enter the value “10” and click “OK”.

After completing these settings, you need to go to “Control Panel”, “Windows Firewall” and add Hamachi to the exclusion list. We wrote earlier about how to add a program to the firewall exclusion list.

Now in the program itself, click “System”, “Options” and select the “Options” tab. Opposite the item “Compression” and “Encryption” we set “Disabled”. Applying the changes.

Reboot the program. You also need to enable the desired service. To do this, press “Win + R” and enter “services.msc”. The services window will open. Find “LogMeIn Hamachi Tunneling Engine” and launch it.

After activating the service, you need to restart your PC and check if the program works in Windows 10.

Good day, dear friends, readers, visitors and other individuals :)

Today’s article will be useful more likely for the gaming contingent (or, more simply, for gamers), but for general, so to speak, development, it will also be useful for all other types of computer users (especially for beginners or intermediate IT specialists).

This article is about a program that allows you to create a virtual private network (VPN - Virtual Private Network) and use it for your own selfish purposes. This program is called - (in common parlance - Hamster).

About Hamachi

Here's what the official website tells us:

LogMeIn Hamachi is a hosted VPN service that allows you to securely connect devices and networks and provide a virtual LAN experience for mobile users, distributed teams and business applications. You can easily create secure virtual networks on demand across public and private networks. can be securely managed and maintained from anywhere via a web interface.

In other words, this is a virtual local network that imitates a physical one, as if deployed on the basis (relatively speaking, on top) of an Internet channel. What are its advantages and why do we need it in general?

Let's consider two examples of use: Gaming (hello gamers) and Office (for companies, offices, corporations, etc.)

  • Game case: let's say you want to play a game together (over a local network), but you are on different providers or are far from each other, or there is simply no such item in the game as " Play over the Internet"but there is a possibility" Play on Local Network".
What the program does is that it unites you into one network (more precisely, it imitates it) and gives a specific IP address (which looks like 5.хх.хх.хх for IPv4), thus making the operating system think that you are in one physical local network (and not just trying to connect to each other far away). Then everything is simple: you create a room (network), your friend connects to it and that’s it... You can play.
  • Office case: You have several computers scattered throughout the area. And you need to somehow make a local network out of all this so that you can log into computers and use shared resources (files, etc.) as if you were sitting in the same office.
The program will help you with this. You create a room, add computers to it and share (share) everything you need.

In a nutshell and as accessible as possible, something like this.

Installing and configuring Hamachi

The program has a friendly interface (especially starting from version 2.0), is entirely in Russian and can be used for free (for non-commercial purposes and with minor restrictions).

You can download it from the official website, namely from here (select “Unmanaged mode”).

The free version differs from the licensed version in that it does not cost 200 American dead presidents per year and has a limitation, namely that it allows you to organize networks (rooms) of up to a maximum of 16 computers each.

I won’t dwell on the installation, there is nothing complicated there. Let's talk about setting up this miracle of programming thought.

We launch the program and see this window:

Where we immediately cheerfully poke the blue button to, in fact, turn on this holiday of the soul.

After this, another window will appear where we indicate some of our client names (see screenshot above).

Now let's consider the option of creating your own network. To do this, click on the blue button " Create a new network..".

Here, as you can see, there are two fields:

  • An identifier is a unique name for the network (you can use a space between words). Cannot be repeated, i.e. if someone has already named their network, for example, " My magic network", then you will no longer be able to give yours that name.
  • A password is, in fact, a password for accessing your network, using which other members will connect to it. You also don’t have to specify it, but anyone who knows the name (identifier) of this network can get into your network.

Having set these, we press the “Create” button, after which we get a network to which our comrades can connect.

Let's return to the second blue button, namely "Connect to existing network".

Here we are greeted by the same two fields - “Identifier and Password”.
In the first, as you already understood, you indicate the name of the network, and in the second, enter the password, if you have one.
Let's move on to the settings. To do this, click in the program window: “System - Parameters”.

There are three tabs, namely "Status", "Security" and "Options":

  • Status.
On this tab you can change your username, which will be visible to other members of your network, and also view some information about the server.
  • Safety .
Security settings are set here, you can do magic with keys and users (block unwanted people, etc.).
  • Options .
Well, here you can disable the screensaver, enable encryption, compression or updates. Actually, it is also possible to go into additional settings and tweak all sorts of differences there, but I would not recommend it unless necessary. Moreover, everything works fine anyway.

There’s nothing more to say about creating and connecting to the network, so I’ll tell you a few words about management:

  • Unwanted (or capricious) users can always be deleted (right-click on the user in the main program window and select “Exclude”).
  • As for changing the password, just right-click on the name of the network and select " Set access". Here you can change the previously assigned password, as well as prohibit new users from entering your network (for which you need to check the box next to " Do not accept new network members") or manually authorize users.
If you have logged into a network, then all you can do with it is leave this network.. :)
  • You can communicate with users via private chat (right click on the user -> "Chat"), or general (right click on the network name and select " Open chat window").
  • By the way, you can always check the user’s availability (right click on the nickname in the list and select "Check availability") for packets to be sent. If this does not happen, then their firewall may be blocking access to the program.
  • By selecting the "Browse" option from the same context menu, you can use shared resources (folders, files, etc.).

Something like this;)

Afterword

I guess that's all.
As always, if you have any questions, additions, etc., I will always be glad to see them in the comments to this article.

See you again! ;)
